Max GallimoreAbout the Author

Max Gallimore was born and raised on a farm in West Texas. At an early age, he felt the urge to travel and to explore. He attended the University of Texas and received his Master's at Georgia State University.  Upon graduation from UT, he joined the US Air Force. Initial assignments were in Air Defense and Intelligence. Returning from Korea, he graduated from Pilot Training at Reese AFB, Texas.  After that he amassed thousands of hours---but lost his hair---flying the C-141 from Macon, GA, to Saigon. He was hired by Delta Air Lines in 1972, retiring in 2000. He was invited to join the Explorers Club in 1982, the Royal Geographical Society in 1985, and The Travellers Club in 2005.  This book is not about how he set out to change the world, but how the world changed him.
